I've know Kate forever!! There's a few years age difference between us and I've literally never not known her! We grew up in the same church and our parents are friends. When I was about sixteen Kate went traveling around Europe and I was so jealous of all that she was going to be seeing. So Kate took a 'Beck Bear'! The sweet little bear version of me traveled with her and features in many of her photos!
In what seemed like such a short period of time following, Kate met Andrew and they got married!(Is that the way it went guys?!) Anyway, fast forward 10 (TEN!!!!) years later and Kate has FOUR babies, all of which I had never met until I had the pleasure of photographing them just before Easter!
Usually at shoots I fall in love with the light, or the location or I get 'that shot' (much like the one above!). But even more than the above photo, what I loved the most was watching these kids be siblings. I found myself smiling while editing- the whole way through. I've had the most bizarre change of heart toward having a daughter since meeting these kids! Having 2 boys of my own, I have been a bit nervous at the thought of potentially one day having a daughter....I don't know how to have a daughter, all I know is boys! But after seeing these kids together- watching the boys adore their sister but still treat her like one of the boys. She keeps up with them and joins in with the fun. She's the perfect mix of lady-like and the sister of brothers! I actually want a daughter now! These kids really have found such a special little place in my heart!!
